'The Irrigation technology exchange between Sri Lanka and Israel is very important as Sri Lanka after eradicating terrorism has started a rapid development drive, Irrigation and Water Resources Management Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said.

Minister de Silva said so while participating in a discussion with Israeli Agriculture Minister Orit Noked at the Ministry recently.

The Israeli Agriculture Minister said that, they hope to provide high standard milch cows to increase Sri Lanka's milk production free.

'The Israeli government will study the reservoirs and water management systems in Sri Lanka. They hope to exchange their experience in the same field, Noked said.

'Israel hopes to popularise drip irrigation in Sri Lanka, a technology which is being widely used in agricultural work,' she said.

Under this programme the two countries will exchange their knowledge of agriculture and irrigation.
